Presented as a prototype at the SIETAR Europa Congress in Brussels in 2000, dialogin The Delta Intercultural Academy opened its virtual doors to interculturalists worldwide for the first time on May 8, 2000.
The Academy originated as the result of a co-operation project between Fachhochschule Konstanz University of Applied Sciences, Germany, and GIP am IMBSE e.V., Moers, Germany.
This project formally started in 1999 but the Academy can trace its origins back to a long-standing collaboration in the area of intercultural communication and the new media between its three originators Peter Franklin, Wolfgang Reichelt and Martin Pfaff.
When the original project financing ended, these institutions and these people gave unstinting and unpaid support to The Delta Intercultural Academy in the first years of its life and played a key role in establishing the Academy as the electronic medium of choice for many interculturalists all over the world.
